With fundraising
a female-dominated sector, maternity breaks are common across
charities. Recruitment of permanent fundraising staff is
difficult enough, but replacing key fundraising staff on
maternity leave with experienced people on short-term contracts
is a huge challenge for charities, big and small.
Midas has two
experienced hands-on fundraisers, Philip Spender and Jenny Wight
both with excellent written skills and track records of bringing
in substantial funding who are available to undertake maternity
cover assignments. Jenny is available for up to three days a
week and Philip is available for up to 4 days a week.
Philip Spender
joined Midas in 1998. He has raised funds from trusts,
companies, the European Commission, Scandinavia, USA, the
National Lottery, fundraising events and by direct mail. He
specialises in lottery bids, approaching charitable trusts and
in drafting business plans. He is an extremely effective bid
writer and a deep thinker and will add capacity and intelligence
to your charity’s fundraising. For more on Philip, please go to
Midas People.
Jenny
Wight has six years experience in the voluntary sector
working for Comic Relief, Quaker Social Action and Friends of
the Earth. She has raised £1 million directly and has
contributed to campaigns raising £70 million. She specialises in
trusts & foundations and project feasibility research. She is
also a panel member for the British Urban Regeneration
Association's best practice awards.
Her recent freelance projects include: a mini capital appeal for
an eco-vehicle for a small environmental charity; project
feasibility research for not-for-profit funeral directors; and
researching and analysing options for the future of a community
centre on behalf of a London based grant giving charitable
trust.
For contracts of around five or six months
we would be glad to discuss special rates to fit your budget.
